Dries Van Noten to Launch New Cultural Foundation in Venice

Belgian fashion designer Dries Van Noten is set to launch a new cultural institution, the Fondazione Dries Van Noten, in the historic Palazzo Pisani Moretta in Venice.

Scheduled to open in April 2026, the foundation will serve as an interdisciplinary cultural center dedicated to exhibitions, workshops, and artist residencies. The initiative aims to create a platform where different creative fields including art, fashion, design, and craftsmanship can intersect and engage in meaningful dialogue.

At the heart of the project is Van Noten’s vision to connect traditional craftsmanship with contemporary production methods, including emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and 3D printing. By transforming the historic Venetian palace into a dynamic cultural space, the foundation seeks to support experimentation, collaboration, and innovation across creative disciplines.

Through its diverse program, the foundation will encourage artists, designers, and makers to explore the relationship between heritage techniques and contemporary creative practices, while also highlighting the importance of craftsmanship in today’s rapidly evolving cultural landscape.

The opening of Fondazione Dries Van Noten is widely seen as one of the most significant cultural initiatives launched by the designer following his long and influential career in the fashion industry. The project is also expected to further strengthen Venice’s role as a major hub within the international art scene.
