About “At Peace”
This series began in March 2020 when Covid sent us into social isolation, and was completed in July when anti-racism eclipsed the virus and (finally) became the focus of our attention.
And along the way, these nine collage paintings became my teachers. As I added and subtracted paper and paint on a daily basis (each has 10+ layers), I listened as the artworks transformed HOW I created, who I wanted to BE, and what I stood for and acted upon.
Ultimately they taught me how to be at peace no matter what was happening around me.
And although initially my teachers, I was always aware that the art was an offering to the Divine, intended to support and inspire the awakening journey of another. I trust that each collage will find the person they were ultimately created to serve.
