Swiss contemporary artist Simon Berger is a pioneer who pushes traditional boundaries by shaping glass surfaces with precise hammer strikes. By intentionally fracturing this fragile medium, he transforms destruction into striking, deep human portraits, redefining the limits of the material. Centered around light, shadow, and transparency, his creative process reflects a philosophy of “existence born from destruction” (morphogenesis). Berger elevates glass from a passive canvas to a living, memorable sculptural form through carefully controlled fractures.

A certificate of authenticity (COA) is a document from an authoritative source that verifies the artwork’s authenticity. While many COAs are signed by the artist, others will be signed by the representing gallery or the printmaker who collaborated with the artist on the work. For secondary market works, authorized estates or foundations are often the issuing party.
