BonVivant, Izmir’s art and culture center, hosts unique examples of sculpture art with Yücel Kale’s exhibition “I Am Me”, which opened on November 18, 2024. This exhibition presents the artist’s new works that blend nature and the spiritual world with his surrealist approach.
Nature and spiritual depth in “I Am Me”
In this exhibition, Yücel Kale carries the spiritual power of nature to his works while maintaining his surrealist style. His masterful use of materials such as glass, wood, amethyst, plexiglass and opal obsidian brings together symbols of nature and mythological elements. The artist’s “I Am Me” exhibition aims to offer viewers not only a visual but also an emotional experience.
“Gazel”, one of the prominent works in the exhibition, bears the name of one of the elegant genres of Turkish literature. Designed in the form of a gazelle, this sculpture comes to life with the combination of wood and precious stones. Enriched with the play of light from materials such as quartz, the work reflects the pure beauty of nature and Kale’s artistic depth.
