Monet Painting Sold For 110.7 Million Dollars

French Impressionist painter Claude Monet’s painting ‘Meules’ was sold at auction for $110.7 million, ranking it among the most expensive artworks ever sold.

Claude Monet’s ‘Meules’ was auctioned for $110.7 million at an event organized by Sotheby’s Auction House in New York. After an 8-minute bidding battle, the painting set a record as the most expensive work by the artist and the highest-priced Impressionist artwork ever sold.

NINTH MOST EXPENSIVE PAINTING
Attracting interest from six bidders, the artwork was ultimately purchased by an unidentified buyer. Sotheby’s reported that the painting is now the ninth most expensive piece ever sold at an international auction. In 2017, Leonardo da Vinci’s ‘Salvator Mundi’ was sold for $450 million to a friend of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, maintaining its position as the most expensive painting in history.
